Mandy Pies Sweater idea and the socks

after alot of questions about style ,color, type of sleeve and what to put where ,the rough draft came out as above. before knitting this i may very well work on it alot more . but the basics are down on paper .
Mandy Pie and Grandmas yarn stash
here she is picking out her yarn or something close so i get a good idea of what to buy tomorrow :)

Laura promised she would let me take a picture for all to see of the first pair of socks i did on two circular needles . so here she is . and there they are :)
and here they go

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ok other then that i did the best i could to work on a button you all can grab if you like its on the side says knitmewarm with my egg as the background. about all i could do was copy the picture i liked to adobe and put words on it where i wanted . heck if i know how to make a link out of it. but its there for anyone to grab if they want and if you know how to make a real button out of those good luck i am totally stumped haven't a clue. now take me to any place else on line and put me in front of a screen and i can link up about anything to any picture or graph but in blog spot grrrrrrrrrr ughhhhhhhhhh i haven't a clue. boo hoo
ok time for coffee been up all night haven't a clue how come just couldn't sleep but its time to get up now so its major coffee time
Neat socks! Bet they're really warm too. I like the story of your great great grandpa. Hope someone connects to it someday and give you more information. I got a few stories ... such as being a great great great granddaughter of Ethan Allen [of the Green Mountain Boys from the Revolutionary War.] That's on my Mom's side of the family.
Keep warm!
Love the socks! I've only knit one pair, many years ago, and I'm not real proud of them. They're big & bulky and don't fit the wearer right. Anyway, I hope someone can help you with the ancestory issue. Have you tried querying ancestory clubs and the like in Alaska to see if they could help?
