ok knitting scarves and more :)

you know there is no better way to spend a week end i can think of then to spend it knitting scarves with the grand daughters for christmas on a knitting machine :)that is how i spent last week end.
the oldest grand daughter couldnt help us she was to busy baking christmas cookies this is the thrid year that she has done this and given them out to all her family and friends.
so the youngest who is only 9 sat on the kitchen table making sure all the yarn went into the right place while i did the knitting but only after we figured out she couldnt move the knitting machine at all with out help.
she designed the strips 30 of the same color and then switch grandma ok. and she counted the rows ever so carefully as we went even though there is a row counter attached to the machine :) we got done with her dads scraf and then she hung in there and we cut the yarn we needed for the tassles on each end and she counted them up 6 of each color layed those out and i attached each one. her older sis came in and very carefully ironed it all for me blocking as she went and then i finished off all the loose ends and my youngest grand daughter made a special card for her dads scarf and wrapped it up.
yep nothing like knitting with them or tasting the good home made cookies as they came out hey someone has to be a taster right? and i got to say my laura has come a long ways since she began her cookie making hobby each christmas because everyone in the family now cant wait to get a sample of what she bakes :) just like the ones who love getting those many pie designed knits that mandy pie loves to dream up and have grandma help her make.
i cant wait to see her knit something on her own LOL so far she loves to crochet but loves to have grandma knit instead . oh well in time all good things come right?
